WHAT IS THE TEMPLE MOUNT?

Parts of the four walls of the Temple Mount, considered the holiest place for Jewish believers, date back to the time of the Second Jewish Temple, in the first century BCE. The walls were constructed all the way around Mount Moriah’s peak. According to the Bible, this is where Abraham sacrificed his son Isaac.

After Mecca and Medina, the Temple Mount is the third holiest place for Muslims. Muslim legend claims that the Prophet Mohammed made his “Night Journey” to the throne of God here, in addition to the site’s Abrahamic history. The Dome of the Rock was constructed in the seventh century, after Jerusalem had been conquered by Muslims. It is the Islamic shrine with a gilded top that may be seen in a lot of well-known photos of the Old City.

There are currently around 100 distinct buildings to visit around the Temple Mount that date from various eras, including prayer rooms, arches, and fountains. The trip is unquestionably worthwhile. It’s crucial to be aware of the regulations before you arrive because there are some limitations for guests.
