The Port of Aqaba

Aqaba-port Authority was established in 1952 by a royal decree and took its present name (Aqaba Ports Corporation, APC) in 1978.

APC is a governmental body with an independent character responsible for establishing, developing, maintaining and operating port activities (receiving of ships, handling and storing cargo).

Aqaba-port is the only port in Jordan, and is owned by Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) and has 12 terminals operated by five operators:

The Aqaba Company for port management and operation ; Aqaba Container Terminal; Industrial Port Company; phosphate Company; National Electricity power Company, and the pilotage operated by Aqaba-port Marine Services Company .

12. The Prince Hamzah Oil Spill Combat Center is equipped to prevent environmental damage from Oil spills.

13. The existence of an international airport serving air navigation and to support the port role in the multi transportation chain.

It comprises (4) berths with a total length (640) meters. These berth are used for handling Oil, Timber, and serve the imports & exports of the industrial complex products such as fertilizers, sulfur, salt, potash and chemicals.
