Japanese Gardens Aqaba locate just to the south of the Shipwreck. Japanese Gardens dive site is one of the best dive sites worldwide. It has very good conditions for diving and snorkeling.
The site is a combination of shallow depths and heavy presence of barracudas, sergeant majors and fusiliers. This make this place like diving site the perfect diving destination for divers of all experience levels. Keep at a 20 meters depth and swim along edge of reef over bushes of black coral.
Heading past the pinnacle and over a huge lettuce coral, a large, undulating reef spreads out before you. Reef fish are everywhere, schooling and darting between huge, ancient table corals and branches of the elusive black coral. Turtles and eagle rays cruise the reef, casting shadows below.
The reef slopes gradually down to 24 m, and here we come to a sudden drop to the East. This section of the reef is home to an even larger range of hard and soft coral species and larger pelagic fish, which enter this zone to feed on the reef. There’s often a mild current in this area due to tide and bottom topography.
If youinstead carried on from Black Coral Valley, you’d leave the Japanese Gardens and head into technical diving territory – and toward a towed-barge shipwreck scuttled intentionally in 1999 after her crane’s jib was literally dropped through the bottom of her hull.
Tayong (Taiyong) Location – Jordan, Aqaba, deeper than the well-known site "Japanese gardens» (Japanese Gardens). Maximum depth – 50 m, the top of the ship at 35 miles she is now abundantly overgrown with soft corals, guarding flocks of fusiliers. This is harbor crane. Frame of the crane is particularly interesting for photographers Diving conditions here, as with other Jordanian wrecks, are quite comfortable – transparent warm water, strong currents are rare. It should be borne in mind that the water temperature will be a couple of degrees cooler than in Sharm el-Sheikh. For decompression, it’s best to return to the reef.
Wreck was discovered by a Diving center Dive Aqaba team in 2004 She was bought by the administration of the port of Aqaba in 1974 and was used for the unloading of ships arriving in port. The incident led to the fall once the ship’s crane and damage to its mounting. They reinforced cement filling, but she continued to leak. Repair was considered uneconomical and the ship sunk in 1999.

Tour aside - some observations about Petra - it is amazing and a lifetime highlight. But it is hard to imagine a major tourist site so badly run. The walk to the treasury is easy - downhill and you are told you can get a golf cart for the ride back up But - there are too few carts and run too infrequently- when we were there the wait for a cart was about two hours! And they charge was about $25 for a 5 minute ride half way up.
We ended up walking up - but at the end of the cavern we opted for the "free" horse ride (just tips!) for the reminder of the hike. What a rip off! First a tip to help you on the horse; then a tip to take your picture, then a tip to lead the horse and then a tip to help you off the horse - and no matter what you offered as a tip it wasn't enough and you were yelled for to giving enough! Best to avoid the locals.

Communication was excellent, all questions answered promptly, Transport was provided in well maintained in mini busses, our day also included a fabulous lunch
